Weld County Fraud Referral Form

What is Welfare Fraud?

It is a crime to lie on an application and/or other paperwork submitted for public assistance. Information that is false, incomplete, or is intentionally left off an application in order to qualify for benefits (or continue to receive benefits) that the household may not eligible for--is considered fraud.

Experienced investigators employed by the Department evaluate complaints from the public reporting that recipients are fraudulently receiving assistance. If evidence is sufficient, appropriate action is taken to establish the recovery of funds expended and/or referrals are made to the District Attorney for prosecution.
