County Board of Equalization Appeal Form
Please note: Your value is the Assessor's Office estimate of the value of the property as of June 30, 2022. This date is set by law. The County Board of Equalization can only consider sales and other market information from 2021 and the first six months of 2022 for values set for 2023 and 2024.
County Board of Equalization (CBOE) hearings will be held from September 1, 2024, to November 1, 2024, for Real Property, Business Personal Property and Oil and Gas Value, at the Weld County Assessors Office located at 1400 N. 17th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631.
To preserve your right to appeal the Assessor's decision, your Petition to the County Board of Equalization (CBOE) must be postmarked, hand-delivered, or electronically date stamped on or before September 15, 2024, for Real Property, Business Personal Property and Oil and Gas Value - after such date, your right to appeal is lost (C.R.S. §39-8-106). If the date for filing any report, schedule, claim, tax return, statement, remittance, or other document falls upon a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, it shall be deemed to have been timely filed if filed on the next business day (C.R.S. §39-1-120[3]).
To appeal the Assessor's decision, you may register online to go before the CBOE by submitting the following information:
- Property Owner Name (as it appears on the Notice of Determination)
- Contact Phone Number
- Email Address
- Account/Schedule Number (found on Notice of Determination)
- Reason for Appeal
- Estimate of Property's Value as of June 30, 2022
- Supporting Documentation (electronic format to be attached)
- Agent Authorization (electronic format to be attached - this is required if you are acting as an agent and you are appealing an account that is not under your name as ownership)
- Preferred Hearing Date
The Appeal process can take several weeks for us to complete. The County Board of Equalization must conclude hearings and render decisions by November 1, 2024 §39-8-107(2), C.R.S. You will receive a written decision on your appeal within (5) working days after the conclusion of the hearings.
